Akuity is a Sunnyvale, CA-based business founded by Argo co-creators Hong Wang, Jesse Suen, and Alexander Matyushentsev. The three of them were founding engineers at Applatix, which open-sourced the Argo project in 2017. After Applatix's acquisition by Intuit in 2018, Argo exploded in growth with the additions of Argo CD, Argo Rollouts, & Argo Events and was subsequently accepted as a CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation) incubating project. Today, Argo has 30K+ GitHub stars, is one of the fastest-growing CNCF projects with over 6,000 contributors, and is trusted by hundreds of enterprises, including Adobe, Tesla, PayPal, Capital One, and Peloton to automate their application delivery on Kubernetes.

Following Argo’s strong adoption, Akuity was formed to help companies reliably deploy Argo at scale by offering enterprise support and functionality. As of November 2024, Akuity has raised $25 million from leading technology investors, Lead Edge Capital & Decibel Partners. This includes continuing their contributions to the project, supporting users with their issues, facilitating discussions and meetings, and promoting Argo every chance they get.


The Opportunity

The Marketing team at Akuity is seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager to join the company. This manager will take full responsibility for product marketing content development for the company, supporting the go-to-market motion. You’ll do a deep dive to build the product and company story from the ground up, including presentations, case studies, proof points, playbooks, and kits that accelerates and scales our messaging across customer events, marketing campaigns and programs, website, customer meetings, and more. This role will partner closely with the Sales and Community/Dev Relations teams to create these assets. Akuity’s products, users, and buyers are a very technical audience, so a product marketer who is curious about technology, and open to learning new technologies will thrive.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the development of top-level messaging and core content for Akuity.
  • Craft and develop compelling audience-specific messages and tools (messaging frameworks, narratives, presentations, videos, enablement).
  • Collaborate with the Akuity product, community, and sales teams to distill key benefits and proof points into compelling value propositions and messaging.
  • Stay connected to business trends and help ensure messages and stories are relevant to our customers.
  • Ensure that customer stories are integrated into marketing content in a way that is credible and compelling.
  • Become an Akuity product expert; develop a deep comfort in demonstrating the product, talking to customers about their pain points, and capturing product benefits in messaging and content for customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of product marketing experience, ideally for a technical product company
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience building, executing and scaling marketing campaigns from concept to completion
  • Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels
  • Comfortable with key marketing tools, e.g., Hubspot, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs
  • Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives
